The LT-MZ1222 is a heavy-duty, floor-fixed automated welding system engineered for daily use in metal fabrication workshops. Taller than a standard operator, this floor-mounted unit provides ample vertical and horizontal working range to handle large cylindrical workpieces including pressure vessel barrels, storage tank shell courses, and large-diameter pipe spools.
Built around three core assemblies — column, boom, and welding head — this manipulator pairs seamlessly with welding turning rolls to form a complete automated welding workstation. It supports both longitudinal straight seam welding and circumferential girth seam welding, replacing inconsistent manual welding with stable, repeatable results. The machine is compatible with submerged arc welding (SAW), MIG, MAG, and CO₂ gas shielded welding processes, suitable for carbon steel, stainless steel, and low alloy steel fabrication.
The heavy floor base provides solid anchoring on the workshop floor, eliminating shifting or wobble during high-load welding operations. The vertical column adopts thick steel plate welded construction with stress relief treatment. It features precision vertical guide rails, supporting smooth vertical movement of the carriage and boom assembly while resisting vibration and deflection.
The horizontal boom is a closed rectangular anti-torsion beam structure. It extends and retracts horizontally with adjustable constant speed. For longitudinal seam welding, the boom travels along the full length of the straight seam; for circumferential welding, the boom locks position to keep the welding head steady above rotating workpieces.
Equipped with an X/Y/Z three-axis torch fine adjustment mechanism. Operators can manually align the welding torch precisely to weld grooves, compensating for plate assembly gaps, misalignment, and multi-layer multi-pass welding requirements. The optional flux hopper can be fitted for submerged arc welding to ensure continuous flux coverage over the weld pool.
The integrated control system uses an industrial PLC and touch screen HMI. Users can set travel speed, lifting parameters, save multiple welding recipes, and manage all machine motions from the cabinet. Built-in safety interlocks protect the equipment and operators during workshop operation.
The cylindrical shell workpiece remains stationary on welding turning rolls. The boom drives the welding head to move horizontally at a constant preset speed, completing full-length straight seam welding for tank shell courses and rolled cylinder plates.
The workpiece rotates uniformly on turning rolls while the column and boom assembly stay fixed. The relative rotation creates continuous, uniform full-circle ring welds for vessel barrels and large pipe joints.

Solid floor base guarantees stable performance during long-hour continuous operation. The machine's height provides sufficient working clearance for large-size cylindrical parts, perfectly suited for factory workshop environments.
One machine completes both longitudinal and circumferential welding. Fabricators can process tank shells, pressure vessels, and pipe spools with the same equipment, maximizing asset utilization and lowering capital expenditure.
Stress-relieved welded frame minimizes vibration during boom movement. It maintains consistent torch position to achieve uniform weld bead and high NDT pass rate.
Store welding parameter recipes for different plate thicknesses and materials. Quick recipe switching shortens setup time between batches and improves workshop productivity.
Compatible with most mainstream welding power sources and welding turning rolls. Can work as a standalone workstation or integrate into automated production lines for cylindrical product manufacturing.
Automated mechanical movement removes human inconsistency. Stable welding quality reduces defects, rework, and grinding work, cutting overall production costs.
The LT-MZ1222 floor-mounted column and boom welding manipulator is a practical heavy-duty welding automation solution built for shop floor requirements. Its solid floor anchoring, dual welding functions, and intelligent control system make it a reliable upgrade for metal fabrication workshops that pursue stable weld quality and higher production output.
