Product Description
Product Overview

Universal 20ft & 40ft ISO Tank Rotator with PLC Control for Sandblasting, Rust Removal, Paint Stripping and Surface Anchoring

This heavy-duty PLC programmable ISO tank rotator is purpose-built for surface preparation and refurbishment of standard 20ft and 40ft ISO tank containers. It rotates the tank shell steadily so operators can perform blasting work from a fixed standing position, eliminating the need to repeatedly move the blasting nozzle or reposition the tank. It is an ideal solution for workshop sandblasting, rust removal, old paint stripping and surface anchoring treatment before recoating.

Traditional tank blasting often relies on cranes or forklifts to reposition the tank frequently, which is cumbersome, time-consuming and carries safety risks. Uneven surface treatment is another common problem because the tank cannot be rotated smoothly at a stable low speed. This dedicated rotator solves these pain points: the tank is clamped on the adjustable frame and rotates slowly and uniformly, allowing blasting workers to stay in one spot and complete full circumferential surface preparation with consistent anchor patterns and uniform cleaning quality across the entire tank shell.

Beyond blasting and surface preparation, this universal rotator supports all standard ISO tank processes, including circumferential welding, internal cleaning, NDT inspection, leakage testing and complete overhaul. One machine serves multiple workshop departments, greatly improving equipment utilization. It is widely adopted by ISO tank refurbishment yards, sandblasting service companies, coating workshops, chemical tank maintenance centers and tank manufacturing plants that carry out surface finishing work.

Structural Design & Working Features
Rigid Stress-Relieved Steel Main Structure

The base, rotary ring and support frame are fabricated from thick Q355 high-strength steel plates and heavy industrial profiles. All critical load-bearing joints adopt full penetration welding. After welding, the whole assembly undergoes high-temperature annealing stress relief to eliminate welding stress and prevent long-term deformation under cyclic heavy load. The robust structure maintains stable balance even when the tank is slowly rotating during blasting, resisting vibration and impact generated by the blasting operation.

Large Gear Ring Heavy-Duty Drive System

An integral large gear ring paired with a hardened reducer motor drive delivers steady, continuous torque. The gear and pinion mesh closely for smooth, reliable transmission even in dust-filled blasting workshop conditions. Compared with belt or chain drive, the gear drive is less vulnerable to abrasive dust and debris, offering strong anti-fouling performance and long service life in harsh blasting environments. It maintains stable low-speed rotation without slipping or sudden jerking.

Adjustable Fixture for 20ft & 40ft Tank Containers

The adjustable sliding support frame is the core universal design. Operators can quickly adjust and lock the support span to accommodate either a 20ft or 40ft ISO tank container. After locking, the tank is held centrally with evenly distributed support points. Eccentric load and tank wobble are avoided during slow rotation, which is critical for uniform blasting results. The fixture frame is reinforced to withstand vibration and recoil force generated by blasting guns.

Wear-Resistant Rubber Lined Support Rollers

The contact rollers are wrapped with thick vulcanized rubber. The soft contact protects the tank frame and existing coating from hard scratches. The high-friction rubber surface prevents the tank from slipping while rotating at low speed for blasting. It also reduces metal-on-metal noise and absorbs part of the vibration created during surface blasting work.

PLC Intelligent Control with VFD Variable Speed

The machine is equipped with an industrial PLC, high-precision encoder and touch screen control panel. Users can preset rotation angles, dwell time and automatic cycles. The tank rotates to the target position, stops steadily for blasting, and can automatically return to the starting point after finishing the cycle.

The VFD frequency converter supports stepless speed regulation from 0.1 rpm to 1.0 rpm. Ultra-low speed is preferred for sandblasting and surface preparation, allowing blasters to control the anchor profile and cleaning grade precisely. Faster speed settings are available for welding, inspection and cleaning procedures. Manual jog mode, forward/reverse switch and emergency stop button are retained for flexible on-site adjustment.

Complete Safety Protection for Blasting Workshop

Considering the harsh working environment of sandblasting, the machine is equipped with mechanical anti-tilting stoppers, electrical over-rotation limit sensors, overload protection and emergency stop. The electrical control box has a dustproof sealing design to resist abrasive dust. Dual mechanical and electrical protection reduces accident risks during long-hour blasting refurbishment jobs.

Core Advantages
  • Perfect for On-Site Surface Blasting Preparation The tank shell rotates slowly while the operator stays in one position to blast. This simplifies the sandblasting workflow, ensures consistent rust removal, paint stripping and uniform surface anchoring, and improves coating adhesion quality.
  • One Machine for Two Tank Sizes The adjustable frame supports both 20ft and 40ft ISO tanks. No need to purchase separate rotators, cutting capital cost and saving valuable workshop floor space.
  • Stable Low-Speed Rotation for High-Quality Blasting Precise speed control eliminates sudden tank movement. Workers can control cleaning grade and anchor pattern steadily, reducing rework caused by uneven blasting.
  • Dust-Resistant Heavy-Duty Gear Transmission The gear drive structure adapts well to dusty blasting workshops and is not easy to fail due to abrasive dust, making it more durable than chain and belt drive solutions.
  • Dual Operation Modes Automatic programmable cycle mode suits batch tank refurbishment; manual jog mode is convenient for fine adjustment and local blasting repair.
  • Multi-Function Beyond Blasting The same machine can be used for circumferential welding, internal cleaning, NDT inspection and repainting, maximizing equipment ROI.
  • Safe and Convenient Installation No special foundation required. Place it on flat concrete ground and connect power for operation. The dustproof electrical design fits harsh blasting workshop conditions.
Application Scenarios

This universal ISO tank rotator is widely used in ISO tank refurbishment yards, sandblasting and coating workshops, industrial surface treatment companies, chemical container maintenance bases, petroleum tank service providers and tank manufacturing factories.

It is the preferred equipment for surface preparation processes including rust removal, old paint stripping, mill scale elimination and surface anchoring before primer and topcoat application. It also supports new tank fabrication welding, post-blasting inspection, pressure testing preparation and full tank overhaul. It works with carbon steel and stainless steel ISO tanks for chemical, food, oil and powder transport.

Quality and After-Sales Support

Every rotator undergoes strict factory testing before shipment, including full-load continuous rotation test, low-speed stability test, 20ft/40ft fixture switching test, PLC automatic cycle test and dustproof electrical inspection.

We provide complete English operation manuals, electrical drawings, installation guidance and remote video commissioning. Customization of load capacity, rotation range and control logic is available according to your blasting workshop layout and tank specifications. Long-term spare parts supply and global technical support keep your equipment running reliably in heavy refurbishment production.
