Excavator Arm Robotic Welding Workcell
This robotic welding workcell is specially engineered for automatic welding of excavator booms, arms, and buckets. Centered on a heavy-duty head and tail positioner paired with a 6-axis welding robot, the system delivers stable clamping for long, bulky workpieces, completing the full workflow of rotating, welding, and inspection in one workstation. It is a turnkey automation solution for construction machinery manufacturers to upgrade their welding production.
System Overview
The core of this workstation is the head-tail positioner. The headstock unit provides powerful rotary driving force, while the sliding tailstock supports the other end of the workpiece. The distance between head and tail can be adjusted freely to match excavator arms of different lengths. The dual-point support structure firmly locks long and irregular workpieces, eliminating shaking or deflection during rotation.
Matched with a high-performance 6-axis welding robot, the whole system can realize synchronous linkage motion. As the positioner rotates the excavator arm, the robot torch follows complex curved weld paths in real time. Workers only need to load and unload parts, which removes heavy manual flipping and repeated clamping operations.
