A plasma cutter is metal cutting equipment that uses high-temperature plasma arc to cut conductive metals. Compressed air is ionized to form a high-speed, high-temperature plasma arc, which melts and blows away metal materials to achieve cutting.
It can cut carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and other alloy conductive metals. Featuring fast cutting speed, smooth cutting surface and low thermal deformation.
We supply two main types: portable air plasma cutters and CNC plasma cutting machines.
Adopting advanced IGBT inverter technology, stable arc ignition and low power consumption. Dual voltage option is available. Matching consumables including torch, electrode, nozzle and shield cup are provided.
Widely used in sheet metal processing, engineering machinery, steel structure manufacturing, auto repair and hardware industry.
Working Principle of Plasma Cutter
The plasma cutter uses compressed air as working gas. An electric arc ionizes the air to generate plasma arc.
1. An electric arc ignites between the electrode inside the torch and the metal workpiece.
2. Compressed air passes through the arc and becomes ionized into plasma.
3. The gas compresses the arc to form a concentrated high-speed plasma arc with temperature of 10,000~20,000°C.
4. The ultra-high temperature instantly melts conductive metal, and the high-pressure airflow blows away molten metal.
5. Move the cutting torch continuously to get a continuous cutting seam.
Note: It only works on conductive metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper. Non-conductive materials cannot be cut.
